SUNGABHA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CENTER (SCDC)

Sungabha Community Development Centre (SCDC) is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit making organization registered on the 28th of September 1997 in Rupandehi. Located in Rudrapur municipality, 36 KM west of Butwal, SCDC has been extending its helping hand to the community for more than 20 years now. It was registered in District Administrative Office (DAO) in 1999 and has been working on Education, Community Health, HIV/AIDS, and Rehabilitation issues ever since in collaboration with many Governmental and Non-Governmental Agencies at the Local Level. In the beginning, it was a local club that over the years has gradually expanded its services to newly emerged issues and has changed its name to a Community Development Center with affiliation with Social Welfare Council (SWC) as well. The organization has an inclusive structure (Executive Committee) of five Females, one Dalit, and four Ethnic members from the targeted group altogether making up Eleven Core Members. There are 113 general members in the organization, and it is an increasing trend. There are 14 staff 4 male and 11 female in the organization, 8 from Dalit, 3 from Janjati, 3 from others, and 1 from OBC in the organization. Currently, the organization is working in Four Municipalities of the Rupandehi district.
